PLANNING FOR SUCCESS

To seed and sustain its commitment to providing meaningful and rewarding outdoor experiences to young people and their parents at no charge, CYO continually works to diversify its funding sources. The organization has multiple vehicles to generate income in support of its programs: Friends of CYO, corporate and foundation grants, Pinecone Society sponsors and fundraising events such as The Maverick, The GOOSe and Catch a Memory.

SEED
Seed dollars bring Colorado Youth Outdoors to a local High School.  There are no fees charged to students and their parents to participate in the program.  To cover start up costs and expenses for the first three years of a new program, Pinecone Society sponsors make a three year commitment of $9,000 per year.  Pincecone dollars may come from a variety of sources including corporations, conservation organizations, charitable trusts, grants and individuals.

SUSTAIN
The seeds planted by Pinecone Society sponsors grow in perpetuity as the program continues in year four and beyond using dollars from business and individual contributions made to Friends of CYO.  These contributions when combined with the organization's other funding sources such as grants and funds generated from fundraising events, secure the program's future in each community.

In addition to those funds necessary to seed and sustain CYO's programs, there are also opportunities to be involved in the development of The Regional Educational Facility at Swift Ponds.  We recently received funds from Great Outdoor Colorado to be used toward the completion of Phase 1 development.  This phase includes the Erion Outdoor Educational Pavillion, permanent restroom facilities and a handicap accessible fishing dock.  If you would like more information about this project or about making contributions to the facility through an in-kind contribution or its endowment fund, please contact Rob at rbloss@coloradoyo.org

OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUPPORT

From Friends of CYO to the Pinecone Society, opportunities to get involved with Colorado Youth Outdoors exist at any level. These valuable gifts allow CYO to continue building organizational capacity while introducing the program to communities throughout the state.

All contributors have the satisfaction of knowing that their gifts have helped shape a natural connection between youth and parents.  With your gift CYO can in turn give the gift of time to families, introducing them to traditional outdoor experiences that promote life-long participation.

CYO believes in partnerships and is regularly looking for opportunities to connect with others who are passionate about families and the outdoors.  For more information on how you can contribute to the mission and success of Colorado Youth Outdoors, please contact us at (970) 663-0800 or email Rob at rbloss@coloradoyo.org. Thank you for your interest!
